Legendary Automaker Vauxhall Drives Down Cost of Customer Acquisition with Behavioral Targeting

Division of GM Works with Online Ad Network BlueLithium to Reduce Cost of Customer Leads by 50 Percent

San Jose, CA and New York, NY- November 6, 2006 - BlueLithium, the company that's reinventing the online ad network, announced today that it has helped UK automaker Vauxhall reduce the cost of online leads by 50 percent utilizing its behavioral targeting technology.

Vauxhall, maker of the Corsa, Astra and Zafira models, ran a branding campaign and a tactical campaign that offered brochures across BlueLithium's UK network. It then re-targeted those who had seen the branding campaign with tactical ads for brochures. This third campaign delivered an average cost-per-brochure-requested 50 percent less than the tactical campaign alone.

"Behavioral retargeting has proven to be a valuable tool," said Doug Chisholm, online account manager at UK media planning agency Initiative. "Based on the Vauxhall results, we plan to explore its potential in combination with many of our branding campaigns."

Retargeting is an online advertising technique that's growing in popularity. It uses cookies to identify people who've visited a website, then delivers customized ads designed to drive them back to purchase or upsell as they surf the Web.
